Black Bear:

We hunt bear in northwestern Saskatchewan, located about 500 kms northwest of Saskatoon on Churchill Lake and Frobisher Lake.  The area is only accessible by boat or plane and therefore abundant with game and wildlife.  Our hunting area is outlined here (see Map). To hunt black bear rent a car or truck and drive to the community of Buffalo Narrows (Google Maps) Saskatchewan; approximately a 5 hour drive.

We have had a 100% success rate for the last five years, including 2006. There were three (3) Boone & Crockett taken in 2006. Our bear rate is 52% Pope & Young or larger.

The numerous black bears in this region range in colour from black to chocolate brown and honey blond.  Barrels in the hunting area, baited with beaver, oats and bacon grease, help us achieve a kill rate of 100%.  Hunting with us will ensure that you will see trophy bears. Several 'Boone & Crockett' bears are taken every year with either rifle or bow and arrow. Ninety (90%) of our guests to date, have been bow hunters.

You will be hunting from a tree stand next to a bait site from 4:00 PM until dark. We will skin the bear for you and freeze it.  We will prepare Cites papers to export your bear hide at a later date or take it to a local taxidermist for you. U.S. residents may take their trophy along when they leave.

The bear hunt is done out of cabins, located right on the lakeshore of Churchill Lake, with more cabins available on Frobisher Lake. The rustic cabins are heated with woodstoves and each cabin sleeps 8 hunters. Our camp features a power plant, hot showers and outhouse. You can bring your own sleeping bag or rent one for $20.
